A day hardly seems like it passes that I don’t get an email from someone asking me a question about systems required for commercial real estate success. You see most of you (commercial real estate professionals) are very entrepreneurial by nature which means the very thought of systems much less even one system is a daunting yet intriguing thought. And yet, by including them in your practice you will move to the next level of success far more quickly – possibly even by leaping!
My CRE Broker Success Blueprint? includes 11 parts (systems) and probably the single most important is to create your vision first – what does your business look like in 1, 5 and even 10 years from today?
A clear vision is the first step on the road to satisfaction and success in your commercial real estate business. Vision is the ability to create something wonderful in your imagination. The further you think into the future, the better decisions you will make in the present – this guarantees that your future will become a reality.
Everything is created twice – first as an idea, second as a physical reality. Napoleon Hill said, “Whatever the mind can conceive it can achieve.”
Imagine all of the things that are possible for you, things that will make your commercial real estate business perfect in every way. Now, ask yourself what has happened for you to create your perfect business? Finally, what needs to happen from today forward for this wonderful movie in your mind to become a reality?
Consider you have a magic wand in your possession! Now, answer the below questions. This is a critical step that ensures you will come from a place of power when it comes to creating goals that support your vision.
Have a vision about what you want your business and personal life to look like – be very clear and detailed. Know where you are today and where you want to be in 1, 5 and even 10 years from now. Evaluate all areas of your personal and professional life – family, spiritual, self-development, health, fitness and well being, social, financial, time management, marketing, sales, staffing, cash flow, and just about anything else.
And naturally, once you are 100% clear with your vision you will need to create the goals that support this vision – but that’s another step in the CRE Broker Success Blueprint? — we’ll get to that another time.
In the meantime – good luck with creating your vision – you’ll be glad you did.
